A few weeks ago now, Vivian walked straight into the corner of the wall. We had her checked out, but she was fine. She barely even noticed by the time we got to the doctor's; back to her cheery self in under 30 minutes.
Last weekend we felt she'd outgrown her crib. She had begun to climb around the house and we knew the crib would be next. As long as she's going to fall out out of where she sleeps, it might as well be a shorter fall. Sure enough, Sunday night we hear this odd thud from her room. We think she had heard Erin in the hall and rolled in that direction. She seemed no worse for wear, at least.
Today, she slipped on the footstool we use as a mini-stairway to the couch. She managed to cut her lip open, making this the first real injury with blood involved. She didn't seem shocked or anything about it, but I'm guessing that's because she was immediately crying. Even though I told her it was okay to cry if she felt she needed to, she quieted down after a good hug. That made me feel really good. Nothing too bad, but she's going to have a sore, fat lip for a day or two, I think.
I suppose it's good to get these 'firsts' out of the way, but I'm still not looking forward to the first ER visit. You know it's not an if, just a matter of when. ^^;
