Sing a Song - 13:02 | Comments (0)

Vivian has begun to sing. She can complete the ABC song, including the closing. She has had a table that sings to her, so this didn't surprise me much. She's such a happy child that you know she'd start singing soon.

What does surprise me is the latest song. It's her favorite, quite possibly because it never ends. Since the song begins with the same words it started with, it's more fun simply to keep going.

Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are,
Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky,
Twinkle twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are,
Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky,
etc...

Even with our new colds, causing her to be a bit hoarse, she continues to sing whenever she can. It's quite endearing. She can be one of those people who look back and say "Oh yes, I love to sing. I've been singing since I was two." The rest of us simply stare in awe.

Crash - 8:50 | Comments (0)

I need to blog before RPGcast is posted... people shouldn't find out major things from outside my own blog.

On Friday night, I had my first major car accident. I consider anything where a vehicle has been totaled to be a major one. Trevor had invited me to join the gang to go to Ichiro Bobblehead Night at Safeco Field. While the Mariners did lose they made it an interesting game, almost coming back twice in the last two innings. After the game, we all piled back into a friend's Subaru and headed north in I-5. Since I was riding shotgun, I couldn't really hear what was being talked about behind me, so I turned on my DS to play some Mystery Dungeon.

Next thing I know, we're slowing down rapidly. I look up just in time to see us striking the vehicle in front of us. Airbags go off and such and it's a bit hazy for a minute. There's lots of powder from the airbags and smoke from the engine and confusion about what happened. Everyone seems okay, so we work to get our car off the road. This is when my legs start to hurt.

Trevor convinced a cab company to come and get us off the side of the road. This is something I would think is rather common, but the first company outright refused while the second said they could, but it would take a while. The third said it was entirely up to the cab drivers. This baffles me still... but whatever. We were picked up right when the tow truck came so it all worked out.

We go to UW medical center to get my leg checked out. It's Friday night, at midnight, with a relatively minor injury in the ER, so I'm not expecting fast service. As expected, I'm seen to about two hours later and another two hours waiting for doctors and x-rays and such. Everyone was very nice and the doctor took it seriously. I kept worrying I was wasting their time, but my leg still hurt noticeably four hours later... so I didn't think I was.

All in all, both legs are bruised, the left one getting the worst. I spend Saturday on the couch, almost unable to walk. Sunday was a bit better, but after only a few hours, it started to ache again. Hopefully today will be better. Vivian doesn't entirely understand that daddy can't run around the house all day like usual. ^^;
