Dragon's Wrath: Sheep - 13:51 | Comments (0)

Okay, I've come to realize that being a gaming journalist means absolutely nothing sometimes. This is why:

Bloomberg comes out with this story about how Dragon Quest IX raised stock value. This is obviously a small error where the person meant the Dragon Quest IV DS remake that came out in November last year.

That, in itself, would be a simple error. As a friend kindly stated, "Bloomberg wouldn't know Dragon Quest from Sex in the City." But the fact that gaming outlets regurgitate this mistake without even stopping to this "wait, did we somehow miss the latest release of the largest seller in Japan?" That was my first impression, so I actually had to double check and no, we didn't miss it. Congrats to the sheep who don't check their facts before putting pen to paper:

I'm pretty understanding about errors in journalism. They happen, but someone, somewhere, should catch something this noticeable. Wake up, people.

I wanted to get in the habit of blogging when Vivian goes down for a nap. This is the quiet time of the day and I really have been lax on blogging as of late. I also try to update my game database so I don't have to update 20 games every couple of months. That's been doing better, even if I forget a day or two.

After all the weirdness yesterday, maybe it's better not to have that much to talk about.

Four Hours of Chaos - 21:23 | Comments (0)

Until 2 PM, everything seemed pretty normal today. That's not entirely true, I suppose. I'm typically rather lethargic on Mondays, but I needed to finish an impression before noon and managed to write it, start to finish, in about 45 minutes. Maybe I'm getting used to this writing thing.

At 2, I was feeding Vivian a late lunch. I looked at the clock and realized that she was late for pre-school. The best part of this is trying to explain to her why we're immediately done eating and why we need to be in the car five minutes ago. Regardless, I get her to school only 15 minutes late. She didn't want me to leave until I mentioned they might have Goodnight Moon. Unfortunately for us, we couldn't find the book and she eventually had to be re-distracted before I could leave.

I go to the old house to swap the laundry, actually pondering what I should do for the next hour. I figure I'll gather up the tools and whatever else I can find and head back to the new house. Upon arrival, the first thing I notice is there's the truck, still in the driveway. I go in and rotate the laundry. I come outside and start to gather tools when I notice there's a ditch in the yard. This is odd.

I turn around to notice the gutter's not quite right. Looking closer, it seems the very large truck that's been here for days has been backed into our carport. I'm literally speechless now. The ditch was bad enough but this?! I'm beside myself with disbelief... I just want to ... I don't even know. Either go home and stare at the wall or wring someone's neck. Only problem is I dunno who.

Life must go on. The roofing company comes over and delcares it'll be fixed tomorrow. I still had a washer/dryer to move, but because of the doors, we can't actually get the old out or the new in, so they sit in the garage for now. We finish this up around 6. Posible the most crazy four hours ever.
